We are up the Hill at Goodwood with three former F1 drivers cars
July 2023
Goodwood is always something special and we are delighted to present our three cars and drivers participating this week end to the fantastic Festival of Speed.
David Brabham will drive our Jaguar XJR-14, a similar car that won the 1991 World Sport Cars Championship, and with which he took a victory at the Nurburgring with Derek Warwick. This is the first time David drives the XJR-14 since 1991 and it is a great emotion for him to be reunited with what he calls « my favorite car ». So many good stories to come and surely a car to watch running up the hill in the Sunday’s shootout.
Johnny Mowlem takes the wheel of the Toyota 92C-V, driven notably by Stefan Johansson at the 1992 Le Mans 24 Hours. This extremely sturdy Japanese factory car took three starts at Le Mans in from 1992 to 1994 and scored a 5th/6th/4th finish whilst in those years only half of the field saw the checkered flag. In 1994 it also led Le Mans at night ahead for the Dauer 962 LMs. This is Johnny’s first time in a Group C cars and the least to say is that he loves it.
Florent Moulin will drive our Alain & Nicolas Prost’s Viper seen at Le Mans Classic. This is actually the last Alain Prost race car, which he drove it in the 2005 French GT Championship to celebrate his 50th Anniversary. Florent is familiar with the event and would be certainly keen on repeating last year’s success with the PlayStation Viper.
The whole event can be watched live on Goodwood’s YouTube channel and the shootout will begin at 2PM UK time.
